Postcard Meiji Shrine 1
A postcard of the Meiji Shrine. Three quarters of the space is taken up by a drawing, a general view of the shrine erected in Tokyo immediately after the death of Emperor Meiji. The shrine is dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife. It is still the most visited shrine for the New Year celebration. Alma Karlin visited Japan only 10 years after this shrine was built, and perhaps that is why her inscription on the back is so revealing.
