The ‘Sergej Mašera’ Maritime Museum in Piran collects, studies and presents the maritime heritage and maritime economic activities of the entire Slovene area, in particular the coastal region. For this purpose, it keeps an organised collection of maritime archaeology, an ethnological fishing collection, and a historical, ethnological and art-historical collection of maritime objects dating from the Middle Ages to the end of World War II.
