The 20th insert from the album The Decoration of the Palace Buildings in Beijing. It shows the motif of meandering geometric patterns known in China as “patterns of clouds and thunder” (yunleiwen 雲雷文), that decorate the buildings of the Forbidden City (Gugong 故宫 or Zijincheng 紫禁城) in Beijing.
