Am0003 Keramicna Okrasna Stresna Opeka 01 Scaled 1

A decorative ceramic roof tile depicting a warrior on a jumping horse. The tile is glazed with different shades of green, black and yellow-brown. The figure of the horse is formed in a jump, with front legs on the ground and hind legs stretched high in the air. It is fixed to the tile by an attachment in the middle of the belly in the form of modelled spirals representing clouds. Its rider sits on a luxurious and richly decorated saddle. He is dressed in precious clothes, wears boots, and has a special hairstyle with a decorative attachment. Both hands are raised in the air, and the face is turned to the side or back. The object probably dates from the 16th century or later. (TB)
