Opium lamp
A brass opium oil lamp, decorated in the lower quadrangular part with incised symbols, coloured in blue. According to the entry in the inventory book of the National Museum, the cylindrical part (listed in the inventory under No 18324) was already missing when the collection was transferred to the Ethnographic Museum. The lamp has a separate umbrella-like lid with a chain on the top. On the base of the lamp is an oval seal with the inscription qian yuan 乾元. (HM)
