Photography White Stupa Temple
A black-and-white photograph showing a white stupa at the White Pagoda Temple (Baitasi 白塔寺) in Beijing. The Buddhist temple is now called Miaoying Temple (Miaoyingsi 妙應寺). The stupa was built in the Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368).
The photograph is the 224th of 449 photographs of Beijing and its surroundings in the album of Ivan Skušek Jr., purchased during his stay in Beijing (1914–1920). In the handwritten inventory of the album, the photograph is referred to as Blauer Tempel: Altar. (DZ, MV)
