Painting Capturing of a suspect
The fifth picture from an album of Chinese paintings of torture, trials, and executions from the Qing Dynasty, showing three officials and a captured suspect. Two are shackling the prisoner, and the third, holding an inscription in his hands, is probably informing him of his offences and the upcoming trial. (NVS)
