Photography Mound of a Prince
A black-and-white photograph showing the burial mound of a prince who died as a child. Reliefs of dragons are clearly visible on the octagonal lower part of the tumulus. The top of the tumulus is hemispherical and has a rounded top, similar to the stupas.
The photograph is the 253rd of 449 photographs of Beijing and its surroundings in the album of Ivan Skušek Jr., purchased during his stay in Beijing (1914–1920). In the handwritten inventory of the album, the photograph is referred to as Ta- Grabhügel eines Prinzen ( Kindes ). (DZ, MV)
