A black-and-white photograph showing a street scene after the Night of Terror in Beijing. The street is covered with bodies, all facing the ground, hands tied behind their backs. Pedestrians walk by, some of whom cannot take their eyes off the corpses. The Night of Terror was one of the clashes between the Nationalist revolutionaries and the Beijing military leadership between February and March 1912.

The photograph is the 88th of 449 photographs of Beijing and its surroundings in the album of Ivan Skušek Jr., purchased during his stay in Beijing (1914–1920). In the handwritten inventory of the album, the photograph is referred to as Strassenbild nach der Schreckensnacht. (DZ, MV)
