A black-and-white photograph showing the main building of the Temple of Confucius in Beijing (Beijing Kongmiao 北京孔廟) – the Dacheng Hall (Dachengdian 大成殿) or “Hall of Perfection”. On the right-hand side of the raised courtyard in front of the hall are musical instruments. Above the door of the hall hangs an inscription with the name of the hall in Chinese on the left and Manchu on the right.

The photograph is the 212th of 449 photographs of Beijing and its surroundings in the album of Ivan Skušek Jr., purchased during his stay in Beijing (1914–1920). In the handwritten inventory of the album, the photograph is referred to as Konfucius-Tempel: Hauptgebäude. (DZ, MV)
