Jožef Spetič (1885– ?) was employed on the long-distance ships of Austrian Lloyd until the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. In addition to free navigation, Austrian Lloyd cargo and passenger ships maintained regular lines between Trieste and East Asia. Spetič continued his maritime career with its Italian successor, the company Trieste Lloyd, based in Trieste, which kept up regular cargo and passenger connections with the East Asian region.
