A black-and-white photograph showing the three-part wooden memorial triumphal arch (pailou 牌樓) at the Summer Palace (Yiheyuan 頤和園) in Beijing. Kunming Lake (Kunminghu 昆明湖) stretches behind the arch. On the left-hand side of the photo, the longer marble arch bridge to Nanhu Island (Nanhudao 南湖島) can be seen in the background.

The photograph is the 318th of 449 photographs of Beijing and its surroundings in the album of Ivan Skušek Jr., purchased during his stay in Beijing (1914–1920). In the handwritten inventory of the album, the photograph is referred to as Wan-Schou-Schan: Pailou. (DZ, MV)
