Photography Lugou Bridge
A black-and-white photograph showing a caravan of camels crossing the Yongding River (Yongdinghe 永定河) over the arched Lugou Bridge (Lugouqiao 盧溝橋), also known as the “Marco Polo Bridge”, in Beijing. The bridge is located about 15 kilometres southwest of Beijing city centre.
The photograph is the 375th of 449 photographs of Beijing and its surroundings in the album of Ivan Skušek Jr., purchased during his stay in Beijing (1914–1920). In the handwritten inventory of the album, the photograph is referred to as Marko-Polo-Brücke. (DZ, MV)
