Photography Portal to the Tomb of a Princess
A black-and-white photograph showing a type of stone memorial triumphal arch with three passages, namely the Lingxing Gate (Lingxingmen 櫺星門) leading to the princess’s burial area with the spiritual path (shendao 神道), the stele pavilion and the burial tumulus.
The photograph is the 262nd of 449 photographs of Beijing and its surroundings in the album of Ivan Skušek Jr., purchased during his stay in Beijing (1914–1920). In the handwritten inventory of the album, the photograph is referred to as Gung-Dschu-Fen: Portal. (DZ, MV)
