Tea set

The set consists of 12 cups and 12 saucers in a wooden box lined with velvet. It is the only fully preserved East Asian ceramic set in Slovenian museum collections. The set has a crackled glaze and is painted in the Japanese decorative style of satsuma, which is characterised by its decoration in coloured enamels and rich gilding. All pieces bear the mark of the Kinkōzan workshop in the Kyoto area of Japan.
